I am a mixed media artist and engineer from Los Angeles, California. My artwork is heavily influenced by where I am and the places I have lived before, including Tanzania, Kenya, India, Ecuador, Chile, Israel, Bolivia, and most recently, Washington DC. From 2010-2016 in my “day job,” I worked as a diplomat. The constant iterative process of moving to new places and starting over in different political and social environments plays a strong role in my prints, drawings, photographs, ceramics, and papier mache sculptures. Right now, the strongest themes in my work are nature appreciation and conservation, feeling left out or being the ‘odd one out,’ and processes of change.
In September 2016, I moved to Boston to attend graduate school. I did a post-bac program in mechanical engineering at Boston University, and also started coding and doing mechatronics projects. Since engineering is also creative, some of my engineering projects can be found under the Engineering Design tab on this site.
